Wild cocoa (Eulophia alta) is a native orchid species (FACW) that is common through central and south Florida. It flowers from July until January and can be found in a variety of habitats.

No, I believe that it just refers to the sometimes chocolate colored flowers that it has.

The plant posted was Wild Coco. It is one of the largest and showiest terrestrial orchids. I love orchids, in fact, I have Necklace Orchids in our house. I often talk to my orchids, because I heard that if you talk to plants they tend to grow well. I make sure that they are well taken care of even when I'm away, I never forget to leave instruction to whoever left in the house.
